Olma was extremely tired running a motel with an 18-month-old daughter. Going to bed at midnight, she felt apprehensive and noticed her heart pounding irregularly in her throat and neck before it suddenly stopped. She waited for it to resume and realized "WOW I'm dead!"
She found herself looking down on her husband and herself, thinking he would be surprised when he realized. Thinking of her baby daughter, she was immediately above the crib looking down. She could see her parents clearly as well, all in pitch darkness at 2 AM. She moved through velvety blackness with sparkles like outer space filled with stars, somewhat tunnel-like, reaching a distant incredible warm glowing light. At the light, Olma felt "WOW I'm home" - it was familiar, she knew she'd been there many times before. She suddenly knew the meaning of life! Communicating with an unseen being, she was given the option of staying or returning. She chose to return to see her daughter grow up and resume her nursing career. As she was drawn back into her body, she couldn't remember the meaning of life - "a curtain had been pulled across that memory." Days later, severe abdominal pains led to discovery of extreme anemia (Hg 7.0) from undiagnosed colon cancer. After three blood transfusions and hemicolectomy surgery, she recovered completely and remained cancer-free for 30 years. The experience made her cherish every moment, love life, and lose fear of death. She experienced astral projection weeks later and became more psychic.
