Jack was diving at Lake Chelan, Washington, about 15 feet below surface when cut by something sharp causing him to gasp and take in water. He was underwater for 5-6 minutes and blacked out. He experienced a movie-like review of happy childhood memories, then entered a tunnel with rotating pastel colors (yellow, pink, baby blue) like a kaleidoscope. He was aware of having all sensations of a body without physical form. Upon realizing he was dying, he cursed and decided to return, immediately finding himself back in his body. Remarkably, despite prolonged submersion and water intake, he recovered perfectly with no weakness or lung issues. He emphasizes NDEs are completely different from hallucinations.
