Oscar was working on electrical wiring in a ceiling while standing on a six-foot ladder when 277 volts (about 13 amps) arced through his pliers and body. The power locked his muscles, preventing him from releasing the wire. He heard static running through him and realized there was no hope as he screamed what witnesses described as a "death cry."
His vision became consumed by static like a TV station going off air. He felt pushed out of his body and found himself in a dark tunnel looking down at himself. He then experienced a complete life review, seeing pictures of events and people from birth to that day falling in sequence. When the last picture fell, he was floating above himself, observing his body standing on the ladder with arms outstretched and head pulled back.
