At age 11, Guenter heard a mysterious voice while leaving his flat, then jumped down stairs hitting his head on the ceiling and losing consciousness. He experienced an extensive out-of-body journey through a black tunnel into a bright world where he encountered a being of light who showed him intense love, gave him a life review highlighting his negative behaviors, showed him visions of human history and future events including becoming a teacher and future hospitalization. The being of light, whom he later identified as Jesus Christ, sent him back with a mission to warn the world about evil forces. After being told to forget everything, he lived 25 years as an alcoholic atheist until a TV program about NDEs in 1980 triggered total recall.
