At 2:30am on June 16, 2001, Ginny was a passenger on a motorcycle that broadsided a truck at 40mph. She was catapulted 30ft high and landed 50ft away on her head without a helmet, fracturing her skull and losing all vital signs. An off-duty police officer who was formerly a paramedic resuscitated her, fracturing a rib in the process. During clinical death, Ginny experienced an out-of-body experience seeing herself from an aerial view being put on a stretcher. She distinctly remembers her neck being adjusted during this three-second procedure. She saw flashing colored lights from emergency vehicles and experienced a void filled with darkness. Upon returning, she felt like awakening from an extraordinarily deep and comfortable sleep that was both eerie and frightening.
