Around 1966, when Mark M was about five years old, his older sister Cherline took him and younger sister Lori to a swimming hole in the Columbia River in Pasco, Washington. When trying to reach his sister and cousin in the water, Mark hit a drop-off and began drowning, bobbing up and down. His cousin Cheri noticed and said "Isn't that your brother?" Mark then found himself floating above the water, looking down at his body lying on the beach with a lifeguard bending over him giving mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. He experienced complete peace with no emotion. The next thing he knew, he was back in his body, spit up water, sat up, and told the lifeguard he was okay. For years he was afraid of water without understanding why, unsure if this memory was real or a childhood dream. In his late twenties, his older sister confirmed the incident happened exactly as he remembered. This was his first out-of-body experience in what he describes as "a very strange life" including being a seer his whole life.
