Larry, a State Police officer, experienced a massive heart attack at a golf course and drove himself to the hospital. After arriving and being treated in the emergency room, he went into cardiac arrest when a clot buster medication caused him to go into fibrillation. He was clinically dead and required chest compressions and two defibrillator shocks to be revived, leaving burn marks on his chest and back. During his death, he found himself standing in a dimly lit hallway or breezeway. He saw a well-dressed man ahead wearing a business suit, overcoat, and hat. The vision was in black and white with clear but dim lighting. Larry walked toward the stranger while telling himself "Don't forget this." Halfway to the man, he felt an uncontrollable urge to open his eyes. When he did, a nurse was shaking him and shouting his name, telling him they had lost him and used chest compressions and two shocks to bring him back.
