Jeanette, age 17, was at the beach with a friend on February 20, 1983, when she inhaled CO2 from cartridges, which can potentially freeze lungs instantly. She immediately blacked out with no memory of losing consciousness. She then found herself standing/levitating in the middle of a vortex tunnel approximately 30 yards long and 20 feet in circumference.
The tunnel was remarkably beautiful, swirling with all pastel colors. At the end stood a person in silhouette wearing loose, flowing garments, with arms stretched out toward her. She could not see the figure's face but noted the garments flowing to the right, especially loose around the wrists. She experienced no sound despite apparent wind movement, no temperature sensation, and felt confused rather than scared about her location. She observed herself levitating in a standing position with the tunnel circling about 10 feet below her feet. A bright yellowish-white light emanated from the tunnel's end. The experience was brief, and she returned without approaching the figure or passing through the tunnel. Though shaken, she was physically fine afterward.
