At age 8 in 1966 or 1967, Christopher R was electrocuted while trying to unplug a record player by putting an extension cord in his mouth and pulling it apart. His eyes rolled back and he could see the electricity going through his body. He then left his body and was looking down on his brother who was on the bed, seeing the whole room from outside his body. He saw and went through a tunnel made of bricks, curved like a brick road tunnel. At the end was a bright white light. When he went through the light, there was a person in a white robe with a man's voice (though he didn't see a face) who told him he had to go back because there was a lot he had yet to learn. The place was so peaceful he didn't want to return. He went back through the tunnel, saw his brother on the bed again, then slammed back into his body. He pulled the plug from his mouth, looked in the mirror in the bathroom, showed his parents, and they took him to the clinic. The experience has led him to be attracted to metaphysics, he sees ghosts sometimes, and he can mentally go through the tunnel when playing bingo and wins almost every time.
