Pantheistic concepts, Light can be any religious figure
While the experience contains some biblical elements like encountering divine light and receiving special knowledge, it contains significant unbiblical concepts. The idea that we are God experiencing itself is pantheistic rather than the biblical Creator-creation distinction. The statement that the Light can be Krishna, Buddha, or Jesus depending on one's background contradicts biblical exclusivity of Christ. The concept of all souls being one contradicts biblical individuality. The journey through the Big Bang and Void, while profound, presents a cosmology different from biblical creation accounts. These elements place the experience outside orthodox biblical teaching despite some compatible themes of divine love and purpose.
Mellen-Thomas Benedict had an extraordinary NDE in 1982 while dying from an undiagnosed brain condition. Given 6-8 months to live, he "died" for over 90 minutes. His journey began with seeing his body on the bed, then a path through dark woods toward light. Realizing he could interact with the experience, he stopped it and asked what the Light really was. The Light revealed itself as a matrix of human souls, showing all higher selves connected as one being. Asking to know more, he passed through the Light and experienced his consciousness expanding rapidly, seeing galaxies and worlds. He reached a second light which he identified as the Big Bang, passed through it into the Void where he experienced looking out through God's eyes, understanding why every atom exists. On return, he understood God is not "there" but "here" - that we are God experiencing itself through us. He saw the universe in its pure energy form, understanding Earth and the solar system as our larger body. The experience provided him with healing technologies he later developed.
