Ingrid's experience contains significant elements that diverge from biblical Christianity. While the initial life-saving telepathic connection with her mother could be seen as divine providence, the subsequent development raises serious biblical concerns. The "beings of light" she encountered and continues to communicate with claimed to be whatever she needed them to be - angels, ascended masters, or other entities - which contradicts biblical teaching about the singular nature of divine messengers and warnings about deceptive spirits (2 Corinthians 11:14).
Her development of psychic abilities, spirit communication, seeing deceased spirits, and having visions contradicts biblical prohibitions against mediumship and divination (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). The beings' explanation about reincarnation and past lives directly contradicts biblical teaching about death and judgment (Hebrews 9:27). Her statement that "God is absolutely present in everything" and that "Heaven is here and now" reflects pantheistic or New Age theology rather than biblical Christianity. While her scientific achievements and desire to help others are admirable, the spiritual framework she embraces and teaches through her Academy diverges significantly from biblical truth.
Two-year-old Ingrid Honkala drowned in a large water tank at her family's Colombian home while playing with her three-year-old sister. The children had climbed onto the 900-gallon tank while unsupervised and were playing catch across the water when Ingrid lost her balance and fell in. As she sank, desperately gasping for air, she saw a bright light at the bottom of the water and was instantly filled with serene calm. She then observed her own body floating in the tank while she existed as consciousness separate from it.
During her out-of-body experience, Ingrid demonstrated remarkable veridical perception. She visited the maid Maria in her room, who was unaware of the emergency. Most significantly, she appeared to her mother who was walking to catch a bus about 10 minutes away. When Ingrid recognized her mother from above, her mother suddenly stopped, sensing something was wrong with her children, and ran back home. This telepathic connection saved Ingrid's life, as her mother went directly to the tank and pulled her out, performing CPR. After entering a state of pure consciousness and oneness with everything, Ingrid was resuscitated by her mother. The experience profoundly transformed her - she returned with genius-level intelligence, able to read, write, solve complex math problems, and paint before age three. She also developed psychic abilities, began seeing "beings of light" who became her lifelong guides, and had visions of the future. These beings later explained she had the experience young enough to remember but before cultural conditioning. The aftermath was challenging as Ingrid initially rejected her identity, calling herself "Jeff" and crying when seeing her reflection. However, the transformation was permanent - she maintained heightened abilities, regular contact with beings of light, and eventually became a NASA scientist and marine biologist. Her mother, who could also see spirits, validated her experiences and helped her understand her expanded consciousness. |
