This experience presents significant biblical compatibility challenges despite the miraculous nature of resurrection after 29 minutes of documented clinical death. The positive biblical elements include the movement from darkness toward divine light, consistent with biblical imagery of God as light (1 John 1:5). The miraculous return to life after extended clinical death could be seen as divine intervention similar to biblical resurrections. However, substantial concerns arise from the aftermath and interpretations. The development of extensive psychic abilities - seeing others' physical problems, prophetic dreams, and predicting future events - enters territory the Bible explicitly warns against as divination (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). On January 14, 1987, Renee died from smoke inhalation in a house fire. She was declared dead on arrival and remained clinically dead for 29 minutes, toe-tagged in a body bag awaiting transport to the hospital morgue. This extended period of clinical death is medically documented and extraordinary.
During her death state, she initially saw herself lying face down on a bed while simultaneously viewing from above, floating above her body. She was then taken through the roof into a dark space containing many tiny colored lights that she was traveling past at great speed. These lights felt very familiar to her. She was being pulled toward a single, intensely bright light in the far distance that she desperately wanted to reach. As if a rope were tied around her waist, she was suddenly reeled backward, passing the same familiar colored lights again. She found herself back in the body bag experiencing extreme pain and stiffness from being dead for so long. Despite the severe pain from rigor mortis beginning to set in, she managed to roll herself off the table. When she hit the floor, staff came to investigate and discovered she was alive. She had been clinically dead for a documented 29 minutes. Since the experience, she has developed multiple psychic abilities including seeing others' physical maladies, prophetic dreams that come true, and visions of future events both personal and global.
