This experience contains both biblical and non-biblical elements. The out-of-body experience and heightened awareness could align with biblical accounts of spiritual experiences. The verified observations of distant events demonstrate a spiritual reality beyond the physical. However, the experience includes significant non-biblical elements, particularly the mention of past lives and reincarnation concepts. The experiencer described seeing a previous life with her brother where their roles were reversed, and understanding how they "decided to come and experience this life together." This directly contradicts biblical teaching that humans live once and then face judgment (Hebrews 9:27). The concept of choosing incarnations and multiple lives is incompatible with Christian doctrine. While the experience of total love and gaining clarity could be seen as encountering divine love, the reincarnation elements and the idea of choosing whether to return based on not wanting her brother to see her dead suggest a different worldview than biblical Christianity.
After struggling with lymphoma for four years, Anita Moorjani fell into a coma and was rushed to the hospital. Full-body scans revealed lemon-sized tumors throughout her body. Her vital organs had shut down, brain and lungs were filled with fluid, and liquid oozed from skin lesions. Doctors told her husband she would not survive the night. Despite having no use of her physical senses, Anita was acutely aware of everything happening around her. Her spirit left her body and she witnessed conversations between her husband and doctors taking place 40 feet away down a hallway, which she later verified to her shocked husband. She crossed over to another dimension where she was engulfed in total love and experienced extreme clarity about why she had cancer, her life purpose, and how life works. Drifting between two worlds, she was shown a tapestry of how her life touched everyone around her. She saw her brother on a plane coming to see her, later verified when she awoke to find him there having just arrived. She glimpsed what seemed to be a previous life with her brother in an underdeveloped rural setting where she was older and protective of him. She also perceived how her husband's purpose was linked to hers. The experience gave her profound understanding that she chose not to die, deciding she couldn't let her brother see her dead.
