While this experience contains standard NDE elements like encountering beings and otherworldly realms, the interpretation and subsequent life path are fundamentally incompatible with biblical Christianity. The experiencer had "spirit guides" even before the NDE and was already involved in paranormal experiences as a child. The beach encounter was with these pre-existing spirit guides rather than biblical figures. Following the NDEs, she became deeply involved in practices explicitly forbidden in Scripture: she works as a psychic medium (communicating with the dead), practices occultism, underwent Buddhist initiations from the Dalai Lama, and practices Tibetan dream yoga believing she experiences "transitions from other lifetimes." She explicitly states she was "obsessed with the occult" buying books about "witches, seances, and paranormal phenomena." The second experience involving the "angel of death" led to her becoming a professional medium. These practices directly violate biblical prohibitions against mediumship (Leviticus 19:31, Deuteronomy 18:10-12) and contradict biblical teaching about death and resurrection. The embrace of reincarnation and Buddhist philosophy fundamentally opposes biblical doctrine.
An 11-year-old girl experienced an NDE during a car accident in 1989 when the vehicle hit black ice and flipped. She was thrown from the vehicle and found herself standing on a beach looking at the ocean with bright sun. Her spirit guides, whom she knew from previous childhood experiences, were there looking out at the sea. She felt content making sand castles with them and wanted to stay forever. She returned to find herself in the snow with the vehicle upside down, feeling intense anger about being back. Her brother suffered severe burns and her mother broke her collar bone. A second NDE occurred in 2016 from black mold exposure that left her unable to move her legs. She felt the angel of death at the foot of her bed, fought fear until surrendering, then blacked out. Upon waking she felt like a ghost in her own apartment. These experiences led her to become a psychic medium, Buddhist practitioner, receive initiations from the Dalai Lama, write books, create educational content, and practice Tibetan dream yogas. She now experiences transitions from other lifetimes in dreams.
