The promise that Jesus would speak to him reflects biblical teaching about the Holy Spirit's guidance. However, significant concerns arise from the post-NDE developments. The shift from LDS to "spiritual Christianity" involving contact with "Ascended Masters" directly contradicts biblical warnings about familiar spirits and false teachings. The practice of medical intuition and energy medicine reflects New Age occultism rather than biblical healing. While the Bible mentions spiritual gifts of healing, the embrace of homeopathy and energy medicine alongside communication with entities like St. Germaine and Serapis Bey represents syncretism with occult practices. The experience led away from biblical Christianity toward universalist spirituality that accepts all spiritual teachings about love as equally valid.
A 20-year-old LDS missionary in Puerto Rico was hit by a car while riding his bike and thrown into a telephone pole. He immediately left his body as a spirit, seeing his body wrapped around the pole and hearing bones breaking without feeling pain. He watched his companion stop another car for help. He was transported through a tunnel of light to beautiful beings in white standing before marble walls and a gate. Three angels told him it wasn't his time and he must finish his mission and go to medical school to become a doctor, then later an herbalist, homeopathic and energy medicine practitioner. They said Jesus would speak to his mind whenever asked. He awoke under a sheet with nurses screaming "He was dead" in Spanish. The doctor showed him x-rays comparing his initially broken right femur, right humerus, neck and back bones that were now completely healed. The doctor called it a miracle. His companion had expected to arrange body transport back to Utah but found him alive. After this, he always hears Jesus's voice when asking questions, shifted from LDS to spiritual Christianity, and became a medical intuitive.
