This experience contains concerning elements that diverge significantly from biblical teaching. While the life review and void experience could align with some spiritual concepts, the later revelations through EMDR therapy and especially consultation with a psychic raise serious biblical concerns. The claim from a "renowned psychic" that the experiencer is "almost pure light" and has had multiple NDEs because it's "physically painful to be here" suggests pre-existence of souls and a fundamentally different nature from other humans, contradicting biblical teaching that humans are created beings (Genesis 2:7), not pre-existent light beings. The mention of suppressed psychic abilities that scared her as a child, presented as something positive to be developed, directly contradicts biblical warnings against divination and consulting psychics (Deuteronomy 18:10-12, Leviticus 19:31). The concept of having a special purpose due to being "almost pure light" promotes a form of spiritual elitism not found in scripture, where all humans are equally created in God's image. While the void experience itself and the life review are relatively neutral, the framework of interpretation through psychic consultation and the embrace of psychic abilities as part of her "purpose" places this account in conflict with biblical Christianity. The experience seems to have led the person toward New Age practices and beliefs rather than toward Christ. The positive elements of experiencing all-encompassing love and having a choice about returning are overshadowed by the explicitly unbiblical elements of psychic consultation and claimed psychic abilities.
The experiencer was driving to ballet class when broadsided by a Lincoln Continental going 60-70mph. Time turned to slow motion at impact. She imagined pulling ahead and telling everyone about her close call. When she lost consciousness, she experienced her whole life downloading at very fast rate like a tape recorder - everything was instant and all-knowing. She entered a void realm described as great with no attachment, no identity, where she was nothing and everything simultaneously. She experienced pure blissful all-encompassing love without ties to personal emotions. She had awareness of having a choice about returning to life. A conversation began asking what happens when you die, to which she answered Heaven or Hell as she was taught. When asked about Hell, she got an adrenaline rush and felt like being deep underwater not knowing which way was up, having to pull fast in any direction and commit. When she broke the surface, she gasped for air (likely her chest hit the steering wheel). At the hospital, she could control pain by leaving her body and could imagine walking with her broken femur using her mind with no pain. Through EMDR therapy in her 40s, it was revealed this wasn't her first NDE. A psychic told her she had multiple NDEs because she was almost pure light, making it physically painful to be here, but she had made a choice for a purpose. She had suppressed psychic abilities as a child due to fear. She now recognizes it's time to share her story and purpose.
