This drug-induced experience presents serious biblical incompatibilities despite containing some common NDE elements. The deliberate use of LSD to induce spiritual experiences violates biblical commands for sobriety (1 Peter 5:8, Ephesians 5:18) and constitutes sorcery (pharmakeia in Greek), condemned in Galatians 5:20 and Revelation 21:8. The childhood sexual abuse context is tragic, but the light's visits during abuse without intervention or healing raise questions about the source of these experiences.
The development of psychic abilities including psychokinesis and precognition represents divination and occult practices explicitly forbidden in scripture (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). The claim of achieving "god-like flow" suggests self-deification contradicting biblical teaching about human nature and God's unique sovereignty. The pattern of using drugs to access spiritual realms aligns with shamanic and occult practices rather than biblical spirituality. While the person experienced genuine trauma deserving compassion, the spiritual path chosen - drug use leading to psychic powers - directly opposes biblical teaching about how to approach God and heal from trauma through Christ.
A childhood sexual abuse survivor experienced visits from "the light" throughout his life during trauma, beginning with his first abuse. The light would visit during abuse episodes, causing ecstatic states where he would predict future events. At one incident in 6th/7th grade, when friends were being abused by a teacher, he confronted the abuser who pushed him over and stepped on his chest. This triggered an ecstatic state with light visitation where he predicted cartel violence against children in Mexico, which he interpreted as the light's message that the abused children would be alright.
At age 21, after finishing school, he experimented heavily with LSD, taking increasing doses over 5 days without sleep. After passing out, he experienced a dream-state premonition of the next day's events. Upon waking, his heart stopped abruptly. Out of body on his knees beside his physical form on the mattress, his spirit looked up and saw a distant light, then shot up like a rocket into yellow light that became whiter as he merged with it, feeling supreme love and joy. As he began losing all sense of self while merging with the light, he found it unnerving and was slammed back into his body instantly, taking a huge gasp as he hadn't been breathing. The next day his premonition proved accurate. Since then, he has experienced many accurate dream premonitions of daily events, psychokinesis abilities, and a "god-like flow" to life. The NDE remains as vivid today as when it occurred. Though the light had visited him throughout childhood trauma, the deliberate drug-induced experience at 21 created permanent psychic enhancements including precognition, psychokinesis, and heightened spiritual awareness. |
