While this experience contains some elements that could align with biblical concepts of divine protection and spiritual beings, it includes numerous features that conflict with orthodox Christian theology. The protective intervention by light beings could be interpreted as angelic protection described in scripture. The life review showing moral significance of actions and the emphasis on love and purpose have some biblical parallels. The transformation from depression to joy could be seen as spiritual healing.
However, the experience contains many elements incompatible with biblical Christianity. The development of psychic abilities including aura reading, healing by touch, mind reading, astral travel, and manifestation directly contradicts biblical warnings against such practices (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). The description of beings as "light beings" without clear identification as angels or God, the river of pure energy rather than living water, and the emphasis on energy and vibrations reflect New Age spirituality rather than biblical truth. The absence of any mention of God, Jesus, sin, redemption, or salvation, combined with the acquisition of occult abilities, makes this experience largely incompatible with biblical Christianity. The focus on self-realization and personal power rather than submission to God's will further distances this from biblical theology.
In December 2009, seventeen-year-old Tasha, who had no religious background or knowledge of afterlife concepts, attempted suicide during her junior year of high school. After collapsing in a bathroom stall at a recreation center where her class was taking the ACT, she instantly found herself hovering above her body, which lay curled by the toilet. She noticed she had no physical form and no longer felt the chronic chest pain she had carried throughout her life.
She was pulled through a dark tunnel in outer space with specks of light and iridescent colors streaming past. She emerged in a space of pure, brilliant white light radiating unconditional love and acceptance. She saw herself as a semi-figure outline of pure light with pale colors, surrounded by multiple iridescent light beings with more vivid colors who communicated telepathically. The beings guided her to open doors revealing her traumatic memories from new perspectives, showing that she had always been protected by light beings during dangerous moments, including one where they stopped her from being shot. The veridical observations included seeing her body lying on its right side curled in a ball by the toilet from a ceiling perspective while having no physical form herself. Most significantly, she was shown a past event where she had been stopped from running by hitting an invisible wall and hearing "STOP" in her head, just as a bullet passed in front of her. From the spiritual perspective, she saw this was actually a bright light that shot up to stop her - information she couldn't have known from her earthly viewpoint. After understanding she mattered and had purpose, she was taken to endless fields with a river of pure iridescent light where she felt negative energy being washed away and replaced with pure energy. She returned to find herself back in her body without the chronic chest pain or depression. She developed multiple psychic abilities including seeing auras, healing by touch, and having precognitive flashes. |
