While the experience contains standard NDE elements like OBE and encountering beings, it led to beliefs incompatible with biblical Christianity. The subject developed a definite belief in reincarnation, which contradicts Hebrews 9:27 about dying once then judgment. The emphasis on love as the "only thing that matters" minimizes other biblical values like holiness, justice, and worship of God. The belief that "we have eternal life" and "death doesn't exist" contradicts biblical teaching about death as consequence of sin and the need for salvation through Christ. The overall worldview developed is more aligned with New Age spirituality than biblical faith.
David was shot in the mouth from 12 feet away. He immediately left his body and was shot into space like from a cannon. He found himself enclosed in a dark amber-like light with two beings present whom he could sense but not see. Communication was telepathic. He felt profound peace, freedom, and no worries - more real than earthly life. When asked what would happen if he continued, they said he couldn't return to his body. When asked about returning, they showed him tremendous physical, mental, and emotional pain. Given the choice, he decided to return and was instantly back in his body on the street fighting for life. The experience gave him belief in eternal life and reincarnation.
