This suicide-attempt NDE contains significant unbiblical elements that overshadow any compatible aspects. The concept of pre-birth "soul contracts" and choosing earthly hardships contradicts biblical teaching about God's sovereignty in creating each person (Psalm 139:13-16) and His sole authority over life circumstances. The ability to "negotiate" changes to a divine plan suggests humans can alter God's will, which opposes Scripture's teaching about God's immutable nature and sovereign purposes. The mention of kundalini awakening introduces Hindu/New Age concepts incompatible with Christianity.
While the experience includes seeing God and experiencing transformation (eating disorder healed), these positive elements are compromised by the theological framework. The predictive visions and global emotional sensitivity resemble psychic abilities more than biblical spiritual gifts. The notion that suicide could lead to beneficial spiritual negotiation is dangerous and unbiblical. Although remarkable medical recovery occurred and positive life changes resulted, the spiritual interpretation includes reincarnation concepts ("different body"), soul evolution ideas, and Eastern mysticism that fundamentally conflict with biblical Christianity.
Kyah attempted suicide through drug overdose and was found at least 18 hours later. She suffered anoxic brain injury, seizure, and cardiac arrest, requiring dialysis for three weeks due to kidney failure. During her clinical death, she experienced a complex out-of-body experience beginning with observing a girl in a hospital bed whom she didn't recognize as herself, feeling sorry for her. She saw bright, blinding light through a hospital window and floated down hospital hallways searching for a tunnel to reach the light.
Unable to find the expected tunnel, Kyah felt her soul was lost, which made sense given her earthly feeling of having no purpose. She entered a dark space where she had a telepathic conversation with God about her life's purpose. God explained she had chosen to experience many hardships to deeply connect with and help others. When she resisted returning, God showed her future self as a happy, charitable person working her life passion until death. After negotiating changes to her "soul contract," including removal of her eating disorder and depression, she agreed to return. Kyah was medically deceased for an entire day before a faint pulse was discovered. She suffered 26 strokes while in a medically-induced coma but survived against 20% odds. Upon recovery, her 20-year severe eating disorder completely vanished, and she experienced a spiritual awakening. She developed heightened emotional sensitivity and receives visions of future events during meditation. The experience transformed her completely - she describes waking up as a different person with new spiritual understanding and the ability to feel others' emotions globally. She now understands unconditional love and recognizes that all suffering was preparation for helping others. |
