These experiences present complex theological considerations. The consistent voice across 30 years suggesting divine oversight and the accurate future projections could indicate angelic guidance or divine foreknowledge. The command to "ASK" echoes biblical promises about prayer (Matthew 7:7). The matter-of-fact tone without overwhelming love differs from many NDEs but might reflect Old Testament prophet encounters. However, significant concerns include the development of precognitive abilities about deaths, which resembles divination or mediumship forbidden in Scripture (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). The absence of God, Jesus, love, or spiritual transformation is notable. The voice's businesslike attitude and apparent annoyance contrast with biblical depictions of divine patience and love. While the experiences suggest supernatural reality and possible divine intervention in life-death decisions, the resulting psychic abilities and lack of spiritual content or transformation raise serious biblical compatibility issues. The experiences seem more paranormal than spiritually redemptive.
Gail experienced two NDEs. First in 1959 at age 7: After falling and breaking her arm, she was anesthetized for treatment. She found herself hovering effortlessly in a huge dark black area that felt calm and comfortable. She noticed a swirling light whirlpool in the lower right and moved toward it. A male voice from behind her left shoulder said "No, no, go back, you still have lots to do." She agreed and woke up. Second in 1988: Bucked off a horse, her foot caught in the stirrup, dragged and kicked receiving over 30 hoof prints. Time expanded dramatically - ten minutes seemed like two hours. Physical impacts felt distant, like tapping on cardboard. She saw beautiful kaleidoscope colors while being kicked. The same voice asked "Remember last time?" then said "This time is different... it can go either way." She was shown emotional tones of future years if she lived. The voice insisted she choose and then demanded she "ASK!" Halfway through thinking "please," her foot came free. The projected future emotional changes materialized over the next 15 years. She later developed precognitive dreams about deaths. Neither experience involved feelings of love, fear, or strong emotion - they were matter-of-fact events with the voice treating her as "slow and stubborn."
