Betty, an experienced horse trainer, was thrown headfirst onto a hard-packed road while breaking a young thoroughbred. Landing nearly on top of her head, she experienced acute awareness of everything - sun, wind, grass - from an impossible vantage point miles away. She observed her entire day from an outside perspective: getting up at home, working at the barn, saddling the horse, and the accident itself. Miss Diamond assured Betty she wasn't at fault for the horse's death and guided her toward somewhere together. At a crossroads, an ageless lady gatekeeper firmly told Betty it wasn't her time and she had things to do. Miss Diamond passed while Betty was turned back. She re-entered her body, awakening with severe injuries requiring extensive therapy. The experience granted her special empathic abilities with humans and animals, leading her to hospice nursing. She later attempted suicide but was again told she had a purpose to fulfill.
