Ghost friend, spirit communication
This childhood drowning experience presents compatibility concerns with biblical teaching. While the basic out-of-body experience during drowning could be understood within a biblical framework of spirit-body distinction, problematic elements emerge in the aftermath. The subject reports having a "ghost friend" she could see and hear for years after the NDE, which she eventually commanded to leave at age ten. This ongoing spirit communication contradicts biblical warnings against mediumship and consulting with spirits (Leviticus 19:31, Deuteronomy 18:10-12). The subject identifies as Muslim both before and after the experience, with no Christian context. The purely observational nature of the NDE, lacking any divine encounter, judgment, or spiritual insight, provides no biblical content. The emotionless, detached observation differs from biblical accounts of spiritual experiences which typically involve profound emotion, divine presence, or moral revelation. Most concerning is the years-long relationship with an invisible entity, suggesting either demonic deception or psychological phenomena rather than godly spiritual experience. The absence of any redemptive, instructive, or divine element, combined with subsequent occult-like experiences, places this account in low compatibility with biblical perspectives.
At age 4 or 5, Bahar went to a swimming pool with her kindergarten class and jumped into the deep end despite being unable to swim. She immediately sank and struggled to surface, managing to break through briefly to attempt calling for help before being pulled down again. After continued struggling, she experienced an out-of-body perspective, observing from above as her teacher swam toward her. She watched herself being pulled from the pool and placed on the ground with all the children standing around. During the OBE, she felt no emotions - no sadness, fear, or bliss - and simply observed the scene without attachment. She did not experience tunnels, light beings, or deceased relatives that others commonly report. The experience was purely observational from an elevated perspective. Her teacher successfully rescued her and she survived. She always recounted seeing the rescue from above when asked about the incident, though no one questioned how this was possible. Only after her brother's death three years ago, when researching death and NDEs, did she recognize her childhood experience as an NDE. She attempted unsuccessfully to contact her former teacher for confirmation. Additionally, she reports having a "ghost friend" she could see and hear until age ten, when she told him to leave. The experience left her with enhanced perception abilities.
