This experience raises serious biblical concerns. Ronald reports being deliberately lured to his death by what he identifies as a demonic entity, suggesting malevolent spiritual forces at work. The being he encountered (Metatron) blocked his path to the afterlife, which contradicts biblical accounts of angels as God's messengers who help, not hinder. His extensive post-NDE paranormal activities including seeing ghosts, shadow beings, and developing psychic abilities are explicitly warned against in scripture. Most concerning is his creation of a device to communicate with spirits, which constitutes necromancy - strictly forbidden in Deuteronomy 18:10-12. His rejection of monotheism (citing Psalm 82 and Genesis 1:26 to argue against one God) directly contradicts core biblical theology. While the tunnel of light is neutral, the overall experience and especially its aftermath of occult involvement make this incompatible with biblical Christianity.
At age 5, Ronald was drawn to the dangerous left side of a creek where someone had drowned. While in an innertube, something teased him to lift his arms, causing him to slip out and go under. After calling for help with a mouthful of water, he drowned with no one noticing. A light appeared and grew brighter as his soul separated from his body with pure ecstasy. He flowed through a tunnel of light, passing doorways on the sides. An entity with a crustacean appearance - pinchers, black round eyes, and shell body - blocked his path three times. He called it the "crawfish man." His soul fought the being but at age 5 wasn't ready for spiritual combat. Years later he discovered this being matched the description of Metatron in an angel encyclopedia. After revival, he experienced ongoing paranormal activity including seeing light beings, ghosts, shadow beings, and developing empathic abilities. He believes his NDE opened a corridor between worlds and has written extensively about his subsequent paranormal experiences.
