This experience contains significant unbiblical elements that conflict with Christian doctrine. The most problematic aspect is the apparent reincarnation or soul-transfer experience where the subject became an elderly man with a complete different set of lifetime memories, wife, and children. This directly contradicts the biblical teaching in Hebrews 9:27 that humans die once and then face judgment. The experience of inhabiting another person's consciousness and having their memories suggests concepts more aligned with Eastern religions than biblical Christianity. Additionally, the development of psychic abilities after the experience is concerning from a biblical perspective, as divination and fortune-telling are explicitly forbidden in Scripture (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). The ability to know future events, including personal life details like future divorce, resembles occult practices rather than biblical prophecy which comes from God for His purposes. While the experience did include some elements common to NDEs such as out-of-body perception and lasting life changes, the core features of becoming another person and gaining psychic powers are fundamentally incompatible with biblical teaching. The transformation in viewing her parents differently could be seen as positive, but the overall experience lacks any reference to God, Jesus, judgment, heaven, or hell - all central to biblical understanding of the afterlife.
A teenage girl was riding her bike with her sister when she attempted to ride up a steep hill. After reaching the top, she suddenly collapsed unconscious over her bike, experiencing what appeared to be cardiac arrest. During the event, she had an extraordinary out-of-body experience where she became another person - an elderly man around 60 years old walking in a desert, complete with his lifetime of memories, wife, and children. She experienced herself as this man thinking about his village and the love between them. Suddenly everything went black and the man jumped in fear. She then found herself back in her body, convulsing on the ground. As the man's consciousness inhabited her body, he was terrified and confused by the green leaves and unfamiliar surroundings. Gradually, as feeling returned to her fingers and toes, she became herself again while the man faded away. Her sister reported she had turned purple during the incident. The experience brought profound changes including becoming extremely psychic with knowledge of future events, immunity to electric shocks, watches no longer working on her, and a complete shift in perspective where she viewed her abusive parents as children needing guidance. She experienced constant deja-vu and knowledge of future events, including knowing she would divorce her future husband before marrying him.
