The experiencer felt universal love and understood existence continues after death, which could align with Christian belief. However, the experience led to beliefs fundamentally incompatible with biblical Christianity. The experiencer became convinced of reincarnation, which contradicts biblical teaching of one life followed by judgment. She actively practices meditation for astral plane exploration and mentions "pratiques occultes" (occult practices) in her current spiritual life. Her interpretation that "we are energy incarnating physically for a period" reflects Eastern/New Age philosophy rather than biblical anthropology. As a palliative care nurse, she claims to sense when souls are present or departed, suggesting psychic abilities. While the experience itself was relatively neutral, its fruits - leading away from Christianity toward reincarnation, meditation, and occult practices - make it incompatible with biblical faith.
Eva was preparing a barbecue with friends on a hot day when she told a friend "I'm dying" and collapsed from syncope. Her body fell and she immediately found herself in a state of completeness without pain or physical sensations. She was at the same location but everything was white and bathed in soft light. She heard music and people talking, feeling extremely well beyond physical limitations. She became aware the music was different than before her fall and realized she might be dead or dying. She wanted to return to her body and heard a diving underwater sound as she reintegrated, becoming aware of physical sensations again. Her friend had been throwing water on her face and cushioned her fall. Though unconscious only briefly, the journey seemed much longer. She realized death isn't unpleasant and that existence continues outside the physical body. Since then, she has explored other planes through meditation and is convinced of reincarnation. Her years as a palliative care nurse reinforced these beliefs, as she can sense when souls are present or departed and hears dying patients describe visions of loved ones.
