Reincarnation, past lives
While this experience contains many standard NDE elements, it includes significant unbiblical concepts, particularly reincarnation and past lives. The experience of remembering a previous life with her mother and sister directly contradicts the biblical teaching of living once then judgment (Hebrews 9:27). The notion of choosing between futures and having multiple lives opposes biblical doctrine of God's sovereignty and the uniqueness of each life. However, the experience does include positive elements like the tunnel and light commonly reported in NDEs, the out-of-body observation verified by family, and lasting spiritual transformation toward compassion. The development of psychic abilities and belief in reincarnation makes this largely incompatible with orthodox biblical Christianity despite some aligned elements.
At age 3 in Germany, Teresa accidentally consumed two fatal doses of orange-flavored baby aspirin hidden in a neighbor's diaper bag. She went into convulsions and arrived at the hospital lifeless in her mother's arms. During resuscitation attempts, she left her body and watched from above, seeing everything the medical team was doing while feeling no physical sensations. She could simultaneously observe both the room where they worked on her body and the separate room where her mother had been taken, feeling her mother's hysteria as if the emotions were her own. She experienced memories of a past life shared with her mother and sister, and gained knowledge of two possible futures - one if she stayed and one if she returned. Despite her young age, she received this information with mature understanding. She also found herself in a dark vortex/tunnel moving toward a light, though the sequence of events was uncertain. After making the decision to return for her mother's sake, she was pulled back into her body and immediately felt everything being done to her. She briefly regained consciousness in the ambulance according to her brother-in-law's confirmation, then awoke four days later in the hospital.
