Xue-Mei, a dedicated atheist and communist party member, experienced a severe allergic reaction to Penicillin during treatment for chronic coughs in 1995. Throughout the experience, she remained aware of her physical surroundings - hearing an elderly couple comment on her condition, sensing her pager ring three times, and consciously directing her body to take Cheyne-Stokes breathing patterns to show signs of life. She could observe events both in the spiritual realm and the physical world simultaneously, experiencing multiple dimensions coexisting. After four hours, when the doctor examined her, her spirit commanded her body to grab his hand, causing her consciousness to plunge back into her physical form. Upon returning, she vomited a half-basin of dark fluid and the doctor stayed with her all night, pale and terrified after hearing her account. The experience completely transformed her perspectives on life and death, eliminating her fear of death and changing her from a strict materialist to someone who understood the eternal nature of consciousness and the true meaning of existence beyond physical reality. |
