rejection of Christianity, denial of heaven, next life concept
Experience led to complete rejection of Christian faith and biblical teachings. The experiencer explicitly states she no longer believes in God, heaven, or Christian views, considering Sunday school teachings as lies. She encountered a being who sent her back but this led to abandoning rather than strengthening faith. The concept of afterlife as simply a "next life" contradicts biblical resurrection and eternal life teachings. Her transformation was entirely negative regarding faith, moving from belief to atheism. This represents a spiritually destructive outcome directly opposing biblical truth about God, heaven, and salvation.
Katie died from a suicide attempt and experienced clinical death with cessation of breathing and heart function. She watched medical staff wheel her body past her in the hospital hallway and observed them working on her body. A man accompanied her during the experience, turning her back to watch as they worked on her body, telling her she had done this so must watch. When she tried to walk away, the man said it was his time to go, not hers, that she was not finished in this life. She then heard a beep, took a breath, and was looking up at the doctor who called nurses to announce her return. The experience led to significant changes in her religious beliefs, moving away from Christian views and no longer believing in heaven as traditionally taught. She now believes the afterlife is actually a next life and that what she learned in Sunday school was false.
