pre-existence of souls, past existences
While containing many standard NDE elements, the experience includes significant unbiblical concepts. The claim of pre-existing before the universe's creation contradicts Christian doctrine of soul creation. References to past existences suggest reincarnation. However, the OBE, spiritual beings, life review, and return align with some Christian mystical experiences. The pre-existence claims and reincarnation themes are incompatible with orthodox biblical teaching.
Tony was walking home from school when he was hit by a car after walking between parked cars. His head cracked open when his body hit a telephone pole. He found himself above his body watching his mother crying, believing he was dead, while he laughed at her from above. He felt the presence of another person beside him who felt familiar.

Looking at this companion, Tony couldn't focus on his face as it was almost painful to look. He recognized this being as someone he knew before entering his body, remembering knowing him before the universe was created. The being called Tony by a different name that felt like his true identity. Communication was in complete concepts with 360-degree understanding.

Following the being, Tony stood before a large red book. Initially blurry, it cleared to show moving pictures in color (remarkable for 1955 when TVs were black and white). The scenes moved faster as he watched. They then traveled through spirals of different colors, with Tony feeling the spirals moved through them rather than them moving. He became aware of countless other beings and felt in love with each one, knowing he was home.

When it was time to return, Tony watched doctors put him in a crib-like bed at the hospital. Embarrassed that a neighborhood girl could see him in a crib, he awoke in his body with intense pain before passing out again.

--- Biblical Summary ---

Biblical elements: Out-of-body experience, encounter with a spiritual being, life review (red book), awareness of premortal existence, realm with many spiritual beings, and return to body are consistent with some biblical and mystical Christian traditions. The sense of eternal existence and spiritual home aligns with biblical concepts of the soul.

Unbiblical elements: The claim of remembering existence before the universe was created and knowing the being from before creation suggests pre-existence of souls, which contradicts orthodox Christian doctrine that God creates each soul at conception. The concept of having a different spiritual name/identity is more aligned with new age beliefs.
