However, the most striking aspect is that the experience led Sabrina from probable belief in God to atheism, which fundamentally opposes biblical revelation. This outcome suggests the experience did not involve an encounter with the God of scripture, who reveals Himself to draw people closer, not push them away. The absence of any beings, messages, or spiritual insights during the experience may explain this unusual result. The increased compassion afterward reflects common NDE aftereffects, but the loss of faith and increased fear of death contradict typical spiritual transformation. Sabrina experienced a severe hemorrhage at home due to placental abruption in 2003. Emergency services were called immediately, with doctors, paramedics, and fire brigade arriving at her home. As she lost consciousness, she heard medical personnel saying "We are losing her, we are losing her!" She found herself floating above the scene at ceiling level, watching everything happening below. After an indeterminate time observing from above, she felt herself leaving the scene and being drawn into a warm, welcoming light that enveloped her. She was pulled into a tunnel and felt wonderful, but sensed that if she went too far, she would not be able to return. She made a conscious decision to come back. The experience left her more detached from earthly concerns but more compassionate toward others. Interestingly, her religious beliefs changed from probable belief in God to atheism after the experience, though she reported sensing danger more acutely afterward.
