This experience directly contradicts core biblical teachings while containing some NDE elements. The experiencer underwent a form of judgment, but it was unlike biblical judgment - focusing on minor intentions and including judgment for future actions not yet committed, which contradicts the biblical principle of being judged for deeds done in the body. The presence of deceased relatives could be compatible, but the absence of any divine or religious figures is notable.
Most problematically, the experiencer explicitly denies fundamental Christian doctrines, stating "there is no hell" and that "hell and heaven are bs." She views religion as a form of abuse used to control people, completely rejecting organized Christianity. The experience led her away from her Protestant faith to a position that denies biblical truth. The notion of being given a "last chance" without Christ, the rejection of afterlife realities taught in Scripture, and the complete absence of God or Christ makes this experience incompatible with biblical Christianity. Her family's rejection when she shared the experience suggests its anti-Christian nature was apparent to other believers.
Gail was strangled in a criminal attack in 1985 until her breathing and heart stopped. She initially struggled but eventually gave up as her limbs tingled and ears buzzed loudly. There was a loud bang or thump and she found herself "there, wherever there is." She could communicate without speaking and know all she wanted to know, experiencing peace and calm unlike anything since.
She underwent a judgment focusing on small instances of intent rather than big things - it was the little things that mattered. She was judged on things she had done and would do in her future life, which upset her as it seemed unfair to be judged for things not yet done. She was told she had to go back as it was her "last chance" and she should have courage to live the life she wanted. Returning to her body felt repulsive - like wearing a disgusting old coat belonging to someone else. She knew everything about the universe during the experience but it slipped away upon return. She saw family members who had died before she was born. The experience led her to reject organized religion, seeing it as abuse to control masses. She no longer fears death and sees material possessions as meaningless. She didn't tell anyone for 20 years; her family disowned her when she did share. |
