This experience raises significant biblical concerns despite some compatible elements. While the initial NDE of seeing herself and encountering a being who sent her back could align with biblical accounts, the ongoing relationship with "Justin" is problematic. The Bible warns against consulting with spirits or having spirit guides (Leviticus 19:31, Deuteronomy 18:10-12). While God can send angels as messengers, the pattern described here of regular visitations from a named entity who provides prophecies resembles mediumship or spiritism more than biblical angelic encounters. Angels in scripture typically identify themselves as God's messengers and point to God, not establish ongoing personal relationships. The predictive elements, while accurate, could represent divination which scripture forbids. The mention of needing to "be there when the world ended" is vague and doesn't clearly align with biblical eschatology. While the experience may have been genuine, the ongoing spiritual relationship appears to diverge from biblical Christianity into practices scripture warns against. In 1995, Maryann was choked to death by her ex-husband when she refused to give him drug money. She was unaware she had been choked until revived. During the experience, she saw herself on the bed while a man stood behind her. She asked who he was and he replied it wasn't her time, she had to go back, she had things to do. He said he would help her now that she could see him and his name was Justin. When she revived and asked her ex where the man went, he insisted no one was there. Justin later appeared multiple times with prophetic messages. He correctly predicted her husband John would leave and her daughter would go to jail, both of which happened. He told her she needed to be there when the world ended. In one instance, he urgently told her to go home immediately as her granddaughter would be hit by a car but be okay - the phone rang with exactly that news. She discovered Justin had been helping her since at least 1981 when she unknowingly called her sister to warn about her son's crib before the roof collapsed on it. She now fights to stay and not go with Justin.
