This experience contains both biblical and unbiblical elements in significant measure. The positive biblical aspects include the otherworldly realm of beauty with divine music surpassing earthly comprehension, reminiscent of Paul's third heaven experience where he heard inexpressible things (2 Corinthians 12:4). The overwhelming love and bliss align with biblical descriptions of God's presence. The tunnel experience during return and the choice given about life and death reflect divine sovereignty while respecting human will. The transformation resulting in loss of death fear and increased compassion reflects spiritual fruit. However, severely problematic elements emerged post-experience. While Helen reports a mystical heart opening through Christ, she explicitly states her beliefs are not Bible-based. Her experiences of past lives and belief in reincarnation directly contradict Hebrews 9:27 stating humans die once then face judgment. The combination of Christ consciousness with reincarnation represents syncretism, mixing Christianity with Eastern religions, which Scripture consistently condemns. Her Buddhist inclinations and departure from biblical Christianity, despite encountering Christ mystically, suggests deception by spiritual forces masquerading as light (2 Corinthians 11:14). The experience led her away from biblical truth rather than toward it.
Helen had been hemorrhaging severely due to a contraceptive device that was later pulled from the market. Despite her gynecologist telling her not to worry, the bleeding was so severe she was lying on plastic sheets with bath towels. On the second night, she felt herself passing out in the bathroom and called weakly for her husband. She fell to the floor and was found unresponsive. Immediately upon losing consciousness, Helen entered a realm of unbelievable beauty with all colors of the rainbow and astounding music that she later compared to a difference as great as that between rap and Mozart, and Mozart to this heavenly music. She was completely surrounded by absolute love and bliss. She became aware of her husband calling her from a great distance and slapping her face, which she couldn't feel. An inner voice gave her a choice to stay or return to her earthly life with her small daughter and husband. She experienced going back through a tunnel-like passage. She chose to return and was rushed to the hospital, though she knew she was no longer in danger. The experience transformed her life completely, eliminating her fear of death and greatly increasing her compassion. She later had mystical experiences including a heart opening through Christ and past life recall, leading her to a spiritual path combining Christ consciousness with non-biblical beliefs including reincarnation.
