Satanic witchcraft involvement, agnosticism
This experience has low biblical compatibility due to significant concerns. While it contains some standard NDE elements like out-of-body experience and encountering a being in another realm, there are major theological issues. The experiencer was practicing Satanic witchcraft at the time of the NDE, which is explicitly condemned in Scripture. He expected to see hell or demons but instead had a peaceful experience, which he interpreted as evidence against biblical teachings. Following the experience, he became agnostic and explicitly states he no longer believes in the heaven or hell of the Bible, instead believing the afterlife is "what we want it to be." This directly contradicts biblical teachings about the nature of God, judgment, and the afterlife.
The lavender-colored realm and the encounter with a female figure (possibly his adopted mother) do not align with biblical descriptions of the afterlife. The Bible teaches that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8) for believers, not in a self-created afterlife. The experiencer's conclusion that "the God of the Bible doesn't exist" and his continued lack of fear despite unrepentant involvement in occult practices represents a dangerous spiritual deception. While God's mercy may have allowed this experience as an opportunity for repentance, the experiencer's response was to move further from biblical truth rather than toward it.
Clyde was participating in a medieval reenactment wearing knight's armor in extreme heat (110F). After fighting for about fifteen minutes, he became light-headed and collapsed. He experienced clinical death with no pulse, breathing, or heartbeat for three to four minutes according to a doctor present. During this time, he found himself walking along a lavender-colored path and hall filled with lavender fog. He saw people waving and smiling at him from within the fog, though he didn't recognize them. He entered a glade surrounded by forest, all bathed in lavender light. A woman in a lavender gown approached him, placed her hand on his forehead, and gently pushed him back. He then woke up in his body being resuscitated. Later he realized the woman may have been his adopted mother who had been buried in a lavender gown. The experience left him without fear of death and looking forward to the afterlife.
