Buddha, Krishna, multiple masters, universal consciousness
This experience contains all nine classic NDE elements but diverges significantly from biblical teaching. While the experiencer encountered Christ and mentions God, the theological framework is syncretistic rather than biblical. The recognition of Buddha, Krishna, and other "perfect masters" as equals to Christ contradicts biblical claims of Christ's unique divinity (John 14:6). The concept of "God Consciousness" and universal resonance aligns more with New Age and Eastern mysticism than biblical theology. The experience led to rejection of organized Christianity and embrace of religious pluralism, directly contradicting Scripture's exclusive truth claims. While meeting a deceased relative could have biblical precedent (though rare), the overall message of multiple valid paths to God and the diminishment of Christ's unique role makes this largely incompatible with biblical Christianity. The universal knowledge received appears to have led away from biblical truth rather than toward it.
At age twelve, Carol V froze to death when her family returned to a house without heat or electricity during an ice storm. The temperature inside was below freezing, and she developed severe hypothermia. Her spirit left her body, traveling up through the ceiling and roof, continuing through time, space, and void toward a light. During this journey, she experienced a comprehensive life review. Her deceased grandfather greeted her on the other side, where she encountered numerous souls, entities, light beings, and angels. She visited multiple realms unlike anything in human context and recognized great masters including Buddha and Krishna. She experienced light beings who were pure knowledge, providing answers to all universal questions. She encountered Christ and ultimately experienced the God Consciousness - total, complete, and perfect light, love, and joy. She understood how all beings are part of God's resonance. She was told it was not her time and was given information and a mission before being sent back against her protests. Upon return, gravity was the most painful part. She awoke to find her sister crying, who confirmed she had stopped breathing and appeared lifeless. The experience fundamentally changed her religious understanding, leading her to believe organized Christianity misrepresents Christ's teachings and that multiple paths to the divine exist.
