This experience presents low biblical compatibility despite some positive elements. The heavenly imagery of beautiful clouds and blue skies aligns with popular conceptions of heaven, and the question "am I in Heaven" shows Christian cultural framework. However, significant concerns arise from the extensive after-death communications reported, including regular contact with her deceased foster father who provides information about recently deceased people. This mediumistic activity directly violates biblical prohibitions (Deuteronomy 18:10-12, 1 Samuel 28). The experience of being touched by spirits and seeing "see-through" spirit families suggests ongoing spiritist phenomena that conflict with scripture. While the elimination of death fear could be positive, the absence of God, Jesus, or angels in the experience, combined with the development of mediumistic abilities, raises serious theological concerns. The predictive voice about the birth, while interesting, lacks clear divine attribution and could be interpreted various ways.
On October 21, 1971, Michele was skipping study hall to visit a friend when she experienced a profound NDE after being struck by a car. Upon leaving school through a back door, she heard an inner voice saying "Run, Marilyn is going to have her baby," prompting her to run down a long driveway. After carefully checking for traffic and seeing none, she was hit at the curb. Her first memory was seeing a yellow hourglass figure of light that enveloped her body. When she opened her eyes again, she found herself surrounded by endless white clouds and the bluest sky she had ever seen. She asked telepathically "am I in Heaven" but saw no one. She then heard her name "Michele" called, though she couldn't rationalize what "Michele" meant in her peaceful state. The serenity was broken by screaming, which she wondered about telepathically before realizing it was her own body. She returned to find herself surrounded by stopped traffic and her foster mother asking what happened. Medical personnel treated her ankle injury. Michele later connected this experience to her nephew's birth three days later. The experience eliminated her fear of death and gave her certainty about the afterlife. She has since had multiple after-death communications, including visits from her deceased foster father who informed her about recently deceased friends.
