In December 1998, Cristael contracted a severe flu that progressively worsened. She developed an agonizing fever where even a sheet touching her skin was excruciating, with muscle spasms that arched her back in severe pain. Going deeper into her mind to escape the pain, she rose out of her body into total blackness. She found herself floating on a rug like Aladdin's, seeing square rafts with 100 bluish-robed figures each, one giving her a hate-filled glance. She passed through a massive opening in the blackness, down what felt like a dark cathedral aisle. She became a sphere of blue and multicolored light. Her deceased mother kept asking her to "come up and stay with us." A great Light sphere approached and enveloped her with waterfalls, rivers, and oceans of Light. Touching it felt like touching a mother's breast. The Light parted like curtains, revealing a panoramic vista of buildings, parks, trees, and beauty. The Light told her she was beholding "the Imperial Heaven, the heart of God, the great Master Awareness." She entered a garden with paths and flowers, then a great hall with golden Light radiating fountains. She experienced a vivid life review in Technicolor. Realizing she could die, she saw a vision of her son finding her dead and chose to return for him. Blue praying hands lifted black mucous from her body. She awoke with the fever broken and healed rapidly, though remained fuzzy for six months.
