Carmen's experience presents significant biblical compatibility issues due to her involvement with Ramtha School of Enlightenment, which teaches New Age channeling of an alleged 35,000-year-old warrior spirit. While the out-of-body experience itself - observing her body from above during a medical crisis - aligns with biblical accounts of spirit-body separation, the interpretive framework is deeply problematic. Her belief that Ramtha, a channeled entity, orchestrated this experience as a teaching tool directly contradicts biblical warnings against mediumship and consulting spirits (Leviticus 19:31, Deuteronomy 18:10-12). The unique sepia/orange infrared visual quality and the peaceful, emotionless floating state are experientially interesting but theologically neutral. Her hearing her partner's voice calling her back demonstrates the power of human connection, which God values. The positive outcome of increased appreciation for her partner's love reflects God's design for relationships. However, her interpretation through the lens of RSE teachings about the body being merely a vehicle, while partially true from a Christian perspective, is embedded in a New Age framework that promotes channeling, psychic development, and esoteric practices explicitly forbidden in Scripture. Her previous "religious unaffiliated" status and continued involvement with RSE after the experience indicates the NDE reinforced rather than challenged her occult practices.
Carmen, a student at RSE/Ramtha spiritual school, experienced a severe allergic reaction after taking bee pollen in a raw juice drink. She became dizzy and nauseous with severe vomiting. After being cleaned in a bath, she passed out and experienced everything in sepia/orange tones. From a ceiling perspective, she observed her naked body being held by her significant other, looking like a rag doll with reddish-brown fluids flowing from her mouth down her chest and thighs as all bodily fluids released. She found the scene fascinating and beautiful, like waterfalls. She was pulled further away, whirling upward, feeling peaceful and blissful with no emotion. From far away, she heard desperate yelling that she didn't initially recognize. As she focused on the sound and moved closer, she realized it was her significant other frantically calling "Carmen! Carmen! Carmen!" At that moment, she returned to her body and passed in and out of consciousness until paramedics arrived. She was taken to hospital and recovered by morning. The experience was different from a previous car accident where time moved differently. She believes Ramtha may have sent this as a "runner" related to teachings about death. The experience confirmed her spiritual beliefs about the body being merely a vehicle, and increased her appreciation for detachment while making her aware of how much her partner cared for her.
