Guy was riding his bicycle when he fell and hit his head on a wall in 1990. An ambulance took him to the emergency room where he experienced clinical death. During the experience, he was projected to a bright light and then came back through a tunnel. Upon returning, he found himself on the ceiling of the emergency room observing his body on the operating table. Initially, he did not recognize his own body. He watched the nurses and doctor removing their gloves before recognizing his body and re-entering it. He heard the doctor say "He is back" upon his return. The recovery took over five minutes to reach full consciousness. Guy experienced incredible peace, joy, and unity with the universe during the episode. He saw beings he did not know and experienced heightened senses with everything appearing much brighter than usual. Time and space seemed to cease existing during the experience. After the NDE, Guy developed the ability to pass energy that sometimes relieves physical pain in others. The experience fundamentally changed his religious views - he no longer believes in organized religion though he maintains belief in a creator. His wife divorced him because she could not accept his new reality, but he later met someone who accepts his transformed perspective.
