Amidst this incredible light of love, a male voice from the left side of the light spoke kindly but powerfully, saying "Tim, it's not your time, you must go back, it's not your time to be here." Tim argued extensively for what seemed like forever, not wanting to return and feeling thrilled to be with his departed loved ones. Each time he gave a reason to stay, he received the same response about it not being his time. Finally realizing he couldn't win this argument with what was clearly a divine authority, Tim thought of his husband of twenty years waiting in the hospital. As soon as he thought "okay," he was immediately back in his body, awakening to a harsh, noisy, overly intense world. The experience left him without fear of death, though he now has advanced cancer and fears the dying process might not be as painless next time.
