This near-death experience contains several elements that initially appear compatible with biblical accounts, including the journey through a tunnel toward divine light, an encounter with a loving divine being, and a comprehensive life review that led to lasting transformation. The overwhelming unconditional love she experienced and the emphasis on love as central to spiritual life echo the biblical truth that "God is love" (1 John 4:8). The Being of Light's appearance and the feeling of being "home" in his presence could be interpreted as an encounter with the divine. The life review showing how anger and negative emotions separate us from love's benefits has parallels with biblical teachings about the destructive nature of unforgiveness and bitterness. The complete transformation of her life, moving from anger to love over decades of dedicated effort, demonstrates the lasting impact of the experience.
However, fundamental theological problems emerge when examining the experience's interpretation and aftermath. The description of heaven as "a frequency you attain" rather than a place contradicts biblical teaching about heaven as God's dwelling place and the eternal destination of believers through faith in Christ. The complete absence of any mention of sin, judgment, salvation through Christ, or the need for redemption reduces the experience to a self-improvement journey rather than a divine encounter requiring repentance and faith. The new age language of "frequencies," "vibrations," "consciousness raising," and "energy projection" aligns more with Eastern mysticism than biblical Christianity. While the experience produced positive behavioral changes, its theological framework fundamentally contradicts core Christian doctrines of salvation, making it incompatible with biblical faith despite surface-level similarities.
In September 1973, Teri experienced a severe car accident in a rural area, going into a ditch with her body crumpled under the steering wheel. She saw how important it is to project love rather than negative energy, and how others either benefit or are negatively affected by one's energy. She understood that heaven isn't a place you're admitted to but a frequency you attain. She begged to return to raise her consciousness and become more loving. The Being granted her request, though she found the return difficult. The experience became the catalyst for 30 years of dedicated spiritual work. Through trial and error and scientific study, she developed the ability to feel unconditional love for everyone regardless of their actions.
