The presence of a mysterious male figure who radiated warmth and peace could potentially represent an angelic being or even Christ himself, consistent with biblical accounts of divine encounters. The overwhelming peace experienced reflects biblical descriptions of God's peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Chris was aware he was floating 6-10 inches off the floor, unable to see his feet, with no breathing or pulse. He felt complete acceptance of being dead. He watched as the doctor inserted a wire directly into his heart through his chest and the nurse applied defibrillator pads. Upon defibrillation, he was instantly "slammed" back into his body through a hot circular area about 10 inches in diameter at his stomach, which he identified as the soul's entry/exit point. This heat dissipated over the next ten minutes. The veridical observations include hearing the doctor's specific phone conversation about the fluoroscope and his diagnosis of "full heart block," observing the medical procedures from the hallway perspective, and noting the sequential application of the pacing wire and defibrillator pads.
