Walk-In concept, past life memories, spirit guide role
While containing some biblical elements like divine purpose and spiritual gifts, the experience includes significant New Age concepts of Walk-Ins, past lives, and spirit guides that contradict biblical teaching about individual soul identity and one earthly life.
SK W had two distinct NDEs related to peritonitis. First experience (April 1978): During severe abdominal infection with high fever, she entered an altered state and found herself viewing from approximately 8 feet above the floor, seeing her mother sitting beside the bed far below before falling into a coma. Second experience (October 1983): Following abdominal surgery, she developed post-surgical peritonitis. She found herself lying in a casket lined with white tufted satin, observing family and friends filing by crying. She was given the choice to stay or leave, chose to stay for her two sons, and was told she had "a very special purpose" and must "always be true to herself." Following recovery, she experienced a remarkable transformation - sitting at her piano one night, she "fell asleep" for ten hours and awoke with a completed symphony before her, despite being unable to read or write music previously. She became an accomplished classical composer and conductor, feeling she may be a "Walk-In" and serving as a spirit guide to many. She also has lucid memories of 18th century life.
