Adaline was strangled to death by her boyfriend after he saw her with her ex-boyfriend. He dragged her to her apartment and choked her until death. She felt no pain but struggled unsuccessfully to break free. She then found herself in a beautiful glowing place with white illuminating clouds and encountered a man in white dressy clothes with smooth black hair. She begged to stay but he insisted she had to go back, saying it wasn't her time. Despite feeling immense love, peace, and belonging - forgetting about her two daughters and mother - she was sent back. She awoke in the bathroom bleeding from her nose and coughing. The being had erased the traumatic memory of the attack, which she only recalled when her boyfriend explained what happened. Since then she has no fear of death, knowing spirits never die, and believes there is no Hell with fire and torture, only purgatory. She believes we are here to assist one another.
