Tim experienced massive pain one night in bed and was later diagnosed with a ruptured appendix causing severe peritonitis. During his experience, he felt pulled from his body and saw a mist and blackness around him like hyperspace on the periphery. He encountered dark shadowy figures he described as "gorgons" and felt he was in a moist, otherworldly landscape similar to Dagobah from Star Wars. He experienced a void and darkness but also felt release and catharsis. Remarkably, he gained heightened awareness and can now foreshadow future events through hunches and concepts. His life review showed him all his bad habits and unhealthy ways of dealing with people. After two weeks in the hospital with severe convulsions from toxins, he recovered.
