While the OBE and enhanced perception align with biblical spiritual experiences, the post-NDE development of occult practices (palm reading, ghost seeing) directly contradicts biblical prohibitions (Leviticus 19:31, Deuteronomy 18:10-12). The belief that a praying mantis embodied the deceased master suggests reincarnation or spiritism. These elements overshadow the otherwise compatible aspects of the experience.
During karate sparring, Larry was struck in the forehead with a spinning reverse open hand strike. He watched himself fall in slow motion from above his opponent's right shoulder. The room's light became more luminous with incredible detail - he could see individual pores and hairs with no shadows. He felt complete peace watching his girlfriend cry over his body, seeing it only as an empty shell.
He returned to his body out of concern for his girlfriend's distress. Upon waking, he didn't recognize his girlfriend or recent dojo changes, asking for his previous teacher who had left months earlier. A praying mantis entered the dojo which Larry felt was the deceased style master.
