While containing many typical NDE elements, the experience includes significant departures from biblical teaching. The non-human beings, rejection of Christ's unique salvific role, and embrace of religious pluralism conflict with core biblical doctrines.
Brad had multiple NDEs, first drowning at age 2-3 (1953) and later being stabbed with a stiletto in 1971. In the stabbing incident, he was attacked with pipes and knifed, severing an artery above his liver. He left his body and encountered two beings who tried to prevent him from going to the light. He shot through a tunnel toward a massive orb of glowing love and understanding. He underwent a life review with a presence beside him, seeing his life like an HO scale train set. He then met 12 tall beings in silver-white robes with large heads and eyes who shared knowledge through a hovering spirit. They showed him a vision of a future son with neck injury (born 1978). He chose to return despite the difficulty. The doctor said he was bleeding to death but Brad knew he would survive. He later had encounters with Christ-like figures in churches.
