reincarnation, Seth teachings, life tones, communication with nature
While containing many standard NDE elements, the experience includes significant unbiblical content. The belief in reincarnation directly contradicts Hebrews 9:27. The Seth teachings contain occult and new age concepts. Communication with nature spirits and "life tones" suggest animistic or pantheistic worldviews incompatible with biblical monotheism. The luminous being's statement could be interpreted as Christ-like but the overall context suggests otherwise.
During a criminal attack, Padraic escaped by punching through a 14-16 foot plate glass window, severely cutting himself. Glass severed an artery and he watched himself bleed while waiting for help. His arm gurgled with each breath. A voice told him to "Lie still, you're fine!" He estimated he had 8 minutes to live with the ambulance 15 minutes away.
As Padraic lost consciousness and fell into "gentle sleep," he became aware he was dying but felt no fear, embracing death with warmth and recognition. His consciousness expanded dramatically - he could think in five directions at once and communicate with trees and ants. He experienced Earth's "life tone" and stood in a field by a river and bridge where a man walked past him in daylight (though it was night in reality). His consciousness expanded beyond Earth, passing through four paper-thin dimensions, feeling life tones of space and planets. He encountered a less advanced life force that expressed love to him. He met a dark-haired friend glowing with yellow light who stopped him, saying "As you believed in me, I shall believe in you and thou shalt not die." A police officer then found him, bringing him back. He experienced mini death experiences for a year afterward. The experience brought profound changes - Padraic no longer fears death, believing in life after death and reincarnation. He feels more connected to nature and the universe, understanding his nature in the world of things. He follows Seth teachings by Jane Roberts, which were reinforced by his NDE. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The OBE, encountering beings, otherworldly realms, and being sent back by a luminous being align with biblical NDE accounts. The peace, expanded consciousness, and life review elements are consistent. The transformative effects and loss of death fear reflect genuine spiritual encounters. Unbiblical elements: The communication with nature elements, life tones, multiple dimensions, contact with "less advanced life forces," and belief in reincarnation are problematic from a biblical perspective. The Seth material Padraic follows contains new age and occult concepts incompatible with Christianity. |
