While the NDE itself contains some biblical elements like consciousness during trauma and life reflection, the extensive post-NDE paranormal claims are highly problematic. Seeing ghosts, spirits, and especially one's own ghost contradicts biblical teaching about death and the afterlife. These manifestations align more with occult practices than biblical spiritual experiences.
On August 9, 1996, Mark D was attempting to cross a road in south London when a motorcycle riding between stopped traffic hit him. The handlebars struck his right ribcage, spinning him 180 degrees, with the wheels running over his leg and buttock. His vision elevated to see buildings disappearing into the horizon, then blacked out with no physical sensation. He released a few drops of urine, realizing this might indicate death. An image from his teenage years appeared - a perspective drawing he had made with buildings and a baby girl's face. He thought "So that's it? I never got to have the beautiful, blonde, baby daughter I always thought I would?" The experience seemed to last 10-15 seconds though he was airborne only briefly. He landed 10-20 meters away on the crossing. When he regained consciousness, he was surrounded by 50-75 people in complete silence. He saw the motorcycle on top of him and had it removed. Despite severe pain and difficulty breathing, he recovered over two weeks.
